SAN ANTONIO VILLAGE MINUTES FOR MAY 11, 2016

The meeting was called to order at 7PM by Dawn Lucian, President. Also in attendance were: Peter Sturken, Vice-President; Joel Naftali, Member, and Lynn Nichols, Secretary.

TREASURER’S REPORT:
The manager reported that that the Association is below what is budgeted for payment of wages because we have not replaced Gennaro. Alex is going on vacation and one of the owners, who is an experienced gardener has agreed to work during his vacation for us.

NEW BUSINESS:
Dawn had a request from an owner that the gate by the Children’s Pool be available to owners as access to the Pool. The manager explained some of the issues involved in granting access through that gate, including having to rebuild the fence and railings, plus liability issues. After discussion, the Board decided that we did not want to make access through the gate available.

LANDSCAPING:
We’re getting some landscaping professionals to give us ideas of what we can do to replace lawns and re-landscape to reduce water use. We can get a rebate from the Goleta Water District of $4,000.00 for planning and planting. We want to replace lawns. We will put out plans so neighborhoods will know what we are doing and the
schedule. The plan would be to do the prep in summer; then plant in Oct/Nov. We are planning to take out the lawn on the corner of Calle Real. It will probably take two to three years for completing the redo of the landscaping. We discussed going to a desert, succulent, and rocks
landscape, more like Palm Springs.
